Ballet Folklorico Ritmo Alegre is a Southern Oregon dance troupe that teaches and

performs regional folk dances of Mexico.


Dances classes are available for students ages 6 and up in our studio at Central Medford High School, 815 S. Oakdale, Ave., Medford, Oregon. (CLASS DETAILS).

Our dancers perform regularly in community events and at festivals, parades, schools. Artistic and Managing Director, Luisa Zaragoza, is a credentialed folklorico dance instructor with a diploma from the Amalia Hernandez School of Dance in Mexico City.

OUR MISSION:  To empower youth through dance and to serve as cultural ambassadors in our diverse community.


HISTORY: The group started as a high school club in 1994 at South Medford High School. In 2006, we became a community program, and in 2014 the group was approved as a federally recognized nonprofit organization.


TODAY: Ballet Folklorico Ritmo Alegre performs 30 or more times a year in local events, including Oregon Shakespeare Festival Green Shows, and Britt Festival.
