Due to COVID-19 we are following OHA protocols in our classes and performances.

Ballet Folklorico Ritmo Alegre is a Southern Oregon dance troupe that teaches and

performs regional folk dances of Mexico.

Dance classes are available for students ages 6 and up in our studio at Central Medford High School, 815 S. Oakdale, Ave., Medford, Oregon. (CLASS DETAILS).

 * Studio is in the Annex E on Whitman Ave. and Barnett Rd.* 


Our dancers perform regularly in community events and at festivals, parades, and schools. Artistic and Managing Director, Luisa Zaragoza, is a credentialed folklorico dance instructor with a Diploma from the Amalia Hernandez School of Dance in Mexico City.

OUR MISSION:  To empower youth through dance and to serve as cultural ambassadors in our diverse community.


HISTORY: The group started as a high school club in 1994 at South Medford High School. In 2006, we became a community program, and in 2014 the group was approved as a federally recognized non-profit organization.


TODAY: Ballet Folklorico Ritmo Alegre performs 20-30 times a year in local events, including Oregon Shakespeare Festival Green Shows, and Britt Festival.
